Awkwafina grew up in Forest Hills, an upper middle-class neighborhood in Queens. It’s also mostly Asian and White. In fact, the last census put the Black population in Forest Hills at only 2.5%. So to say Awkwafina is just Nora Lum honoring her "hood" is deceitful. Her normal speaking voice doesn't have "blaccent" anywhere near it and you'd know that if you had done research before yelping about "wokeness".
