I had a boyfriend who was a high profile sports figure and thought that he was going to play the domestic violence card on me, but he failed miserably. Why, because my mom and dad didn't raise me to be a princess, they raised me to be a warrior. Martial arts, boxing, self defense, weight training, and the list could go on. He soon found out that he chose the wrong woman to screw with. Not all men are bad, but the bad ones make it hard for women to trust men in general. Men are the ones who dictated how women should look, dress and behave...the patriarchy has been in charge for too long and a lot of women need to deprogram.

Men behave the way they do because they've been allowed to, and now that a lot of strong, well-educated, independent women are choosing to live our lives our way and aren't enamored with marriage, they're finally realizing that their grip on women is not what it once was, and if we remain focused on moving forward with or without them, their death grip on our necks will be no more.

Men are scared to death that we can flourish just fine without their suffocating know-it-all attitudes, arrogance and misogyny. Just as I said that some women need to deprogram, men need to step out of their "I am a man, and I need to control women" mindset, and realize that if they want a woman who has their back, they need to take women seriously, listen to us and jettison their toxic, dismissive, patriarchal attitudes. Otherwise, we'll be okay traversing life single, successful and happy.
