It's incredibly frustrating, but it also highlights the stark reality of White privilege entwined with wealth. Legacy admissions predominantly favor Rich white individuals who effortlessly funnel millions into universities, securing spots for their privileged little cupcakes, who then proudly graduate from Ivy League or other prestigious institutions armed with their BOUGHT degrees as if they really had to work and study hard for that degree. Then they seamlessly transition into high-paying jobs, often within their family's company or through connections within their parents' social circles. Consequently, they never experience the struggle of job hunting, working at menial jobs until that "magic job that they were promised materializes" or the burden of a massive amount of student loan debt, which is a stark contrast to many Black graduates.

What's equally troubling is the widespread misunderstanding of affirmative action. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't about admitting unqualified Black students; rather, it aimed to ensure that qualified Black applicants received fair consideration for admission, thus leveling the playing field. But the hypocrisy continues because the media and other races of people, some of which helped to dismantle Affirmative Action, don't appear to have a major problem with Legacy Admissions. I suppose it comes down to...as long as White people are doing it, it's perfectly fine.
