Let's just be honest...Swift's a mediocre artist who is elevated to goddess-like heights because she checks all of the boxes White people need for her to be their great White beacon of artistic brilliance and femininity. When she was in Los Angeles for her performances, all we heard and saw was Taylor Swift every single day. Beyonce' just finished her 3 shows and yes they mentioned her, but compared to Taylor Swift, Beyonce' didn't get a lot segments on her concert performances, and one anchor on ABC 7, was wildly disrespectful. You could see his dislike for her, which was contrary to his fawning over Taylor Swift.

Beyonce' brought her A+ game. I attended her 1st performance because it was girl's night out, and her birthday show as a guest of a former colleague. Her performances were next level phenomenal. There is no way in HELL that anyone should think, if they're being honest, that Taylor Swift is better than Beyonce'. And the nonsense of Swift being up there with Michael Jackson is laughable. Swift and Beyonce' are different artists with different styles. But ultimately, both will appeal to two distinctly different segments of our society.

I've tried to be unbiased by listening to Swift's music, and for her birthday, I took my god-daughter and her friend to one of Swift's LA concerts. But I simply don't get it. I was bored to tears. There's tons of White artists that I adore and think they're fun to listen to and their concerts are great, just as there are some Black artists that leave me scratching my head, and others that can have you up dancing, singing and wildin' out to their music.

But in my opinion about this senseless competition between Beyonce' and Swift is simple...it's another example of pitting women against each other, and it showcases the still pervasive racism in this country. If Beyonce' were White, she'd probably win this ridiculous competition. But because Swift IS White and Beyonce' is Black, that knocks Beyonce' down a few rungs. Swift's Whiteness will always have her ahead of Beyonce' by a mile in the eyes of the White majority. That's how it works in the US. White mediocrity will always top Black excellence. It's sad, but unfortunately, it's true.
