White people assume everything negative about us from the cars we drive, our intelligence, wealth, our character, how we grew up (we all come from the ghetto, didn't you know), our education...it goes on and on and on. The indoctrination about Black people being at the very bottom of the barrel is now written in their DNA.

But speaking of cars, one of my best friends has an expensive sports car, and almost every time he's out driving in the car he bought, he had cops stop him, then question him about his car because....wait for it, it fit the description of a stolen car. But of course it did. Then he's been at different places and some White people had the temerity to part their lips to ask him how could he afford to buy a car like that. I was with him a couple of times and heard that nonsense for myself. He's had the cops called on him because some White Karen and Ken told them that they suspected he had stolen his own car (parked at his own home).

There's this misconception that this type of racial profiling is found mostly in southern states....WRONG! What happened to my friend, happened right here in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, California. You know, the supposed Cumbaya capitals of the US. Yes, I agree fully that the constant scrutiny Black people are under while living our lives and minding our own business, is extremely dangerous. All it takes is some trigger-happy cop or or a White American flag-waving, 2nd Amendment-loving gun-toting MAGA loon confronting someone Black, and it can result in the murder of an innocent Black person.

But driving while Black is just another day in the life of Black Americans trying to navigate a society that has been taught to hate us and suspect us of being degenerate criminals. So what's new?
